Electric Starter Conversion for a 1962 Panhead

Part One of Conversion

We've done this electric start conversion about a dozen times now and it really makes a difference with the old motors especially with hot starting. The customer also requested a magneto which seems a little like overkill but it does produce a nicer spark and has automatic advance and retard. Still waiting for the starter from the manufacturer....we'll update when we are complete.

Oil Tank Mods
We used a stock Softail oil tank because it has a large battery tray. The tank was modified to accommodate the passenger foot peg mounts and new tank mounts were made to fit the rigid frame.
Custom Battery Cover
The battery cover was fabricated from 14 gauge sheet metal.

Eye candy for gearheads...

As promised the Triumph parts are back from Verne's Chrome Plating in Gardena, CA.
Check him out at: www.verneschromeplating.com

We were told that customers at the chrome shop couldn't keep their hands off the parts and from the photos I'm sure you can see why.
